Would you like to work hands-on with testing, electronics and verification in an advanced technical environment?
We are currently looking for a Type Test Engineer to join a large international industrial company in Västerås. This role is a good fit for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work in a laboratory environment and wants to develop their expertise within testing, verification and type testing of technically complex products.
You will become part of an experienced test team, working closely with products, test equipment and other engineers. The position is suitable both for recent graduates and for those who already have a few years of experience within testing, electronics or product development.
As a Type Test Engineer, you will work with verification and type testing of electronic products and systems to ensure that they function as intended and comply with relevant technical and regulatory requirements.
The role is highly practical, with a large part of the work carried out in a laboratory environment.
Your responsibilities may include:
Preparing and building test setups
Connecting products, cabling and test equipment
Performing practical tests and measurements
Conducting tests within areas such as EMC, environmental conditions, mechanical impact and electrical safety
Troubleshooting when test results or measurements deviate from expectations
Analysing and documenting test results
Working according to relevant standards and test methods
Collaborating with engineers within product development, verification and product ownership
You will be working with technically complex products, which means that much of the product-specific knowledge will be built over time. You will therefore have good opportunities to learn from more senior colleagues within the team.
We believe you have a technical education within a relevant field, such as:
Electrical Engineering
Electronics
Or a related technical field
You may be a recent graduate or have a few years of professional experience.
Most importantly, you have a fundamental understanding of electronics and electricity and enjoy working hands-on with technology.
Have a practical and technical mindset
Are comfortable working hands-on in a laboratory environment
Have a basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems
Enjoy troubleshooting and understanding why something works – or why it does not
Work in a structured and methodical way
Are curious and comfortable learning new technical products and systems
Can communicate clearly and explain how you have approached technical tasks
Previous experience within testing, verification, measurement equipment or laboratory work is considered an advantage, but is not a requirement.
It is also beneficial if you have previous experience within areas such as:
EMC testing
Environmental testing
Electrical safety
Climate testing
Product verification
Testing within the automotive industry or another product development environment
Standards such as IEC 61000-4 or IEC 60068

Work setup: The position is primarily onsite, as a significant part of the work is carried out hands-on in a laboratory environment.

Language: English is the working language. Swedish is not required.
You will initially be employed by A-hub and work as a consultant at our client. After 12 months, the ambition is for the employment to transition directly to the client, provided that the collaboration works well for both parties.
